- From 1927 to 1931, Agnes Claudius studied at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1940, she became a nurse-companion to the actress Mrs. Patrick Campbell. In 1946, Claudius emigrated to Rio de Janeiro, working as a film critic. She returned to England in 1956.
